Challenge

More and more inverters require as earthing system the IT network on the AC side.

The cable is partly exposed to the weather unprotected and partly buried.
Furthermore, it is introduced into the transformer station/transfer station.

The AC cable must therefore match the shape of the IT network, be UV-resistant, suitable for burial and flame-retardant and should still be easy to lay despite the necessary robustness.

Challenge

Wind turbines with an external transformer station require a flexible cable so that it can be laid in the piping at the base of the tower. In addition, the cable should be able to be laid directly in the ground, otherwise the entire route to the transformer station would have to be piped.

References

In March 2017, Bayka was able to convince the project developers at Enercon of the advantages of the new flexible transformer connection cable during a meeting in Aurich. It will now be used in all future Enercon wind turbines with external transformer stations. Enercon ordered our BayMotion® Power 1×400 mm² for the first order.
